GSI Opens State-of-the-Art Gemological Laboratory in Kolkata

Kolkata’s jewellery sector has received a major boost with the launch of Gemological Science International (GSI)’s advanced gemological laboratory near Camac Street, one of the city’s busiest jewellery hubs.

The new facility is designed to deliver globally recognised gemstone and diamond certification services, bringing faster turnaround times, cutting-edge diamond screening equipment, and innovative digital reporting tools to manufacturers, traders, and retailers in Eastern India.

The inauguration was attended by leading figures from the jewellery industry, including Pankaj Parekh (Regional Chairman East, GJEPC), Suvro Chandra (Jt. MD, P.C. Chandra Jewellers), Ashok Bengani (President, Calcutta Jewellers Welfare & Ankurhati Associations), and Amit Soni (CoA Member, GJC). Industry leaders welcomed GSI’s presence in Kolkata and praised its focus on innovation and global-standard services.
