Kolkata has achieved another major milestone in its growing technology and innovation journey. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has officially launched India’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Kolkata, reinforcing the city’s position as an emerging hub for artificial intelligence (AI), enterprise technology, and digital transformation.

The newly inaugurated facility, located at Delta Park Lords in Kolkata, has been established in collaboration with Oracle and aims to help enterprises accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence and data-driven business transformation.

A Major Boost for Kolkata’s Growing IT Sector

The Oracle AI Data Platform Lab in Kolkata is designed to address some of the biggest challenges enterprises face today, including fragmented data systems, slow analytics cycles, limited AI scalability, and operational inefficiencies.

By leveraging Oracle AI Data Platform — a combination of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and OCI Enterprise AI — the lab will enable organizations to make enterprise data AI-ready while deploying intelligent automation and AI-powered applications at scale.

This development is especially significant for Kolkata, as the city has been selected for India’s first facility of this kind, showcasing growing confidence in Bengal’s expanding IT ecosystem.

Kolkata Emerging as an AI & Technology Hub

Over the last few years, Kolkata has witnessed strong momentum in the technology sector, with major IT companies increasing investments, expanding campuses, and strengthening digital infrastructure.

The launch of India’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab by TCS adds another feather to Kolkata’s cap, positioning the city as an important destination for AI engineering, cloud computing, data analytics, and enterprise innovation.

According to TCS, the facility is designed to accelerate the entire AI implementation cycle — from ideation and experimentation to full-scale deployment.

TCS also announced plans to establish similar Oracle AI Data Platform Labs and Centres of Excellence in four more Indian cities over the next three years, highlighting the success and importance of the Kolkata model.

Strengthening India’s AI Future

The move further strengthens TCS’s investments in AI engineering, intelligent data platforms, and advanced analytics. The company currently has a centralized network of more than 26,000 Oracle-skilled professionals across India to support enterprise AI initiatives.

As Kolkata continues to attract investments in technology, AI, and digital innovation, initiatives like this are expected to further boost the city’s reputation as one of India’s fastest-growing knowledge and technology ecosystems.

With India’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab now operational in Kolkata, the city is steadily positioning itself at the forefront of the country’s digital and AI-driven future.
