Adani Arogya Mandir Kolkata: Adani Group to Invest ₹4,000+ Crore in 2,000-Bed Healthcare Campus
Adani Group has laid the foundation stone for the 2,000-bed Adani Arogya Mandir in Kolkata, marking an investment of over ₹4,000 crore in West Bengal’s healthcare sector.
The foundation stone ceremony was held in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani.
51.75-Acre Healthcare Campus in Kolkata
The Adani Arogya Mandir will be developed across 51.75 acres and is envisioned as a world-class Academic Medical Centre and comprehensive healthcare ecosystem serving Eastern India and beyond.
Once operational, the project is expected to cater to more than 2 lakh inpatients and over 20 lakh outpatients every year.
The project is also expected to generate approximately 10,000 jobs across the healthcare ecosystem, including medical, nursing, allied healthcare, paramedical and other related fields.
Medical College and Healthcare Education
Beyond hospital facilities, the Adani Arogya Mandir campus will bring together healthcare delivery, medical education and research.
The planned campus will include a medical college, College of Nursing and an institution for allied healthcare and paramedical education.
This integrated approach is expected to create an ecosystem where healthcare services and professional education operate alongside each other, adding capacity for training medical and healthcare professionals in the region.
₹1 Lakh Crore Investment Plan for West Bengal
At the foundation stone ceremony, Gautam Adani also announced plans for over ₹1 lakh crore of investments across West Bengal by 2035.
The broader investment roadmap is expected to cover multiple sectors and further expand the Adani Group’s presence across the state.
The announcements come at a time when West Bengal is seeking to attract large-scale investments across infrastructure, healthcare, energy, logistics and other sectors.
A Major Healthcare Investment for Kolkata
The Adani Arogya Mandir is set to become one of the major private healthcare and medical education projects being developed in Kolkata.
With a planned capacity of 2,000 beds, facilities for medical and allied healthcare education, and an expected annual footfall of millions of patients, the project could significantly expand healthcare infrastructure in the city and the wider Eastern India region.
