Kolkata-based procurement technology company NowPurchase has expanded its head office to a new office space at the 3rd floor of Kariwala Tower in Salt Lake Sector V, marking another milestone in the company’s journey.

Founded in Kolkata in 2017 by Naman Shah and Aakash Shah, NowPurchase is a technology-driven procurement platform focused on the metal manufacturing industry. The company is building a digital marketplace that enables metal manufacturers to procure high-quality raw materials through a more trusted and technology-enabled process.

Alongside its procurement marketplace, NowPurchase is also developing an operating system designed to improve productivity and streamline procurement processes for metal manufacturers, with the broader goal of making procurement increasingly autonomous.

The company began its journey with an initial investment of $300,000 from Nipha Group. In 2022, NowPurchase raised $2.4 million in a funding round led by Orios Venture Partners and InfoEdge Ventures. The funding made NowPurchase one of the Kolkata-based startups to attract institutional venture capital.

The new office comes at a time when the company’s team and operations are expanding. The larger and more vibrant workspace is expected to support the company as it continues to grow its presence in the metal procurement and manufacturing ecosystem.

The office expansion was marked on Ganesh Chaturthi, making the occasion particularly significant for the team as the festival is associated with new beginnings and fresh possibilities.

NowPurchase is led by Founder and CEO Naman Shah. Before founding the company, Shah held several roles across business development and entrepreneurship and was also associated with the Young Indians Kolkata Chapter Executive Committee.
