Kolkata is buzzing with ideas, energy, and innovation. This year, that spirit has found a new stage through the Startup Premier League – Kolkata Campus 2025, an initiative by Startup ki Pathsala to discover and nurture entrepreneurial talent among college students. As the Outreach Partner, Kolkata Calling™ is proud to walk alongside this movement that is reimagining how the youth of Bengal engage with startups and innovation.

From Orientation to Inspiration

The league kicked off with vibrant orientation sessions across leading campuses:

  • JIS University, Agarpara hosted over 150+ enthusiastic students who engaged with mentors like Swarup Roy, Founder of Krishi Vikas, whose journey inspired students to think big, solve real problems, and create sustainable ventures.
  • St. Xavier’s University saw a packed house of curious students asking sharp questions, reflecting the culture of entrepreneurial exploration Xavier’s has long encouraged.
  • University of Engineering & Management (UEM) Kolkata welcomed 60+ participants, where Arnab Basu emphasized the importance of manpower handling in startups, while Indranil Chakraborty, Co-founder of TekBerry, shared his own entrepreneurial journey.

Each orientation wasn’t just an event — it was a spark that lit up the possibilities of entrepreneurship for hundreds of students.

Momentum Across Campuses

The excitement has been equally high at Camellia Group of Institutes, where a webinar hosted by Startup ki Pathsala drew 400+ registrations. The energy and curiosity surpassed expectations, breaking myths around entrepreneurship and planting the seeds of real ventures. As Namrata Datta of Camellia Group rightly noted, what begins with one or two believers can, over time, grow into a movement supported by hundreds.

This is precisely what Startup Premier League aims to achieve — building a collective culture of innovation where students support and inspire each other to turn ideas into impact.

A Stronger Ecosystem Through Partnerships

Adding further strength to the league, Startup ki Pathsala has signed an MoU with IKN Innovation Foundation, the incubation centre of IMI Kolkata. This collaboration ensures participating students gain access to structured mentorship, resources, and an enabling ecosystem that can transform raw ideas into scalable startups.

With every orientation, webinar, and mentoring session, the league is not just discovering talent but also building a startup culture that will endure far beyond the contest itself.

Walking Together, Building Bengal

At Kolkata Calling™, our mission has always been to highlight the bright side of Bengal — its people, ideas, and entrepreneurial spirit. Partnering with Startup ki Pathsala is a natural extension of that mission. Together, we aim to create optimism and opportunities around Kolkata’s campuses, showcasing the journeys of young dreamers who dare to think different.

Because, as the saying goes:

“If you want to walk fast, walk alone. If you want to walk far, walk together.”

And in Bengal, we are walking together — far and strong. 🚀
