West Bengal has secured another major industrial investment as Kolkata-headquartered Adventz Group announced plans to invest ₹1,700 crore across two large-scale projects in Sankrail, Howrah. The investment will strengthen the state's logistics, manufacturing and export ecosystem while creating more than 3,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The investment will be split between a ₹1,200 crore integrated logistics and warehousing park and a ₹500 crore specialised wagon tanker manufacturing facility being developed in partnership with Czech Republic-based Nymwag.

₹1,200 Crore Logistics & Warehousing Park

The first project involves the development of a modern logistics and warehousing park across nearly 100 acres of company-owned land in Sankrail. The facility is expected to significantly enhance freight handling, storage and supply chain capabilities for eastern India.

With growing demand for organised logistics infrastructure, the project is expected to improve connectivity for industries across the region while supporting faster movement of goods through rail and road networks.

₹500 Crore Rail Wagon Manufacturing Facility

The second project is a specialised wagon tanker manufacturing plant to be established through a joint venture between Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd., part of the Adventz Group, and Nymwag of the Czech Republic.

The facility will feature four high-tech production lines with an annual manufacturing capacity of 2,500 specialised rail wagons. The plant will incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies, including ESAB cutting systems and Fronius automated welding solutions, enabling world-class production standards.

Apart from serving the domestic market, the venture will also target export opportunities, strengthening India's position in global rail equipment manufacturing.

Supporting India's Freight Vision

The investment aligns with India's broader objective of increasing the share of railways in freight transportation from 27% to 45%. By expanding domestic manufacturing capacity for specialised wagons and improving logistics infrastructure, the projects are expected to contribute to more efficient, sustainable and cost-effective freight movement.

Over 3,000 Jobs to be Created

Together, the logistics park and manufacturing plant are expected to generate over 3,000 direct and indirect jobs, providing a significant boost to employment and industrial activity in the Howrah region.

Another Major Investment for West Bengal

The announcement further reinforces West Bengal's growing attractiveness for industrial investment across manufacturing, logistics, engineering and infrastructure. With a combination of strategic location, expanding connectivity and skilled workforce, the state continues to strengthen its position as one of eastern India's emerging industrial and logistics hubs.

The Adventz Group's ₹1,700 crore commitment marks another significant milestone in Bengal's ongoing industrial growth story and highlights the increasing confidence of leading business groups in the state's long-term economic potential.
