Durga Pujo 2026 is set to put West Bengal and Kolkata in the global spotlight, as the state Tourism Department launches “Durga Pujo Global Connect 2026”, an ambitious international campaign to showcase Bengal’s iconic Durga Puja festival, culture, tourism and heritage to audiences around the world.

The campaign will promote Bengal’s Durga Pujo at some of the world’s most recognisable destinations, including New York’s Times Square, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa and London’s Piccadilly Lights, as well as locations in Sydney and airports across Japan. The initiative aims to position Durga Puja in Kolkata and across West Bengal as a major global cultural and tourism attraction.

As part of the international campaign, Bengal’s Durga Pujo will be showcased at New York’s Times Square, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa and London’s Piccadilly Lights, along with locations in Sydney and airports across Japan.

The global outreach will also extend across India, with promotional activities planned at 10 Indian airports and 50 railway stations. Around 1,000 Durga Pujo pandals across West Bengal will also be covered as part of the campaign.

2,600 Influencers to Promote Bengal’s Durga Pujo

A major component of Durga Pujo Global Connect 2026 will be its digital outreach strategy. Around 2,600 influencers and content creators, each with at least 1 million followers or subscribers, are expected to participate in the campaign.

Around 60% of the creators will focus on travel, tourism, culture and heritage, while the remaining 40% will highlight food, art, fashion, lifestyle and photography.

The campaign aims to generate approximately 200 crore digital views and impressions across social media and other digital platforms.

Bengal’s Culture and Tourism in the Global Spotlight

The campaign is expected to go beyond showcasing Durga Pujo as a festival, highlighting the wider cultural and tourism experience of Bengal. From traditional celebrations and iconic pandals to Bengali cuisine, art, heritage and local experiences, the initiative will introduce international audiences to different facets of the state.

With Durga Pujo already drawing visitors from across India and abroad, the global campaign could further strengthen West Bengal’s position as a cultural and tourism destination.

From the streets of Kolkata to Times Square and Burj Khalifa, Durga Pujo 2026 is set to carry Bengal’s cultural identity to audiences around the world.
