Kolkata-based LT Elevator begins construction of second manufacturing facility in Howrah
Kolkata-based LT Elevator has started construction of its second manufacturing facility in Uluberia, Howrah, marking a major expansion of its manufacturing operations in West Bengal. The integrated plant, being developed after the company acquired the land parcel, is expected to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of FY27.
The new facility will complement LT Elevator's existing manufacturing unit at Maheshtala and increase the company's installed manufacturing capacity by around 2.5 times. It will also consolidate manufacturing, sourcing and execution under a single roof, helping improve operational efficiency.
At full ramp-up, the Uluberia plant will have the capacity to manufacture 2,500 elevators and 8,000 automated parking spaces annually, with a peak revenue potential of around ₹400 crore.
According to the company, the expansion is expected to reduce lead times, improve cost efficiency and strengthen its ability to execute larger institutional and government projects.
The project adds to the growing list of manufacturing investments in West Bengal and reinforces the state's position as a destination for industrial expansion by both homegrown and national companies.
