Truevis Technologies to Invest ₹500 Crore in Medical Equipment Manufacturing Plant in Haldia, Bengal
West Bengal is set to strengthen its presence in India's medical equipment manufacturing sector as Truevis Technologies plans to invest ₹500 crore in a new manufacturing facility in Haldia. The company has been allotted 50 acres for the proposed plant, marking its second manufacturing base in India and its first in eastern India.
The upcoming facility is planned to manufacture over 1,000 units of large medical equipment annually. The product portfolio is expected to include diagnostic imaging systems, patient monitoring equipment, radiotherapy systems and radiology equipment, catering to the growing demand for advanced healthcare technology.
Haldia Plant Targets ₹1,000 Crore in Annual Business
Truevis Technologies projects that the Haldia facility could generate annual business exceeding ₹1,000 crore within five years of commissioning. The investment is expected to strengthen the company's manufacturing capabilities and expand its reach across eastern India and other markets.
The project also aligns with the broader push towards domestic manufacturing of medical devices and healthcare equipment. By increasing local production capacity, the facility is expected to help reduce import dependence in select product categories and support the localisation of components used in advanced medical equipment.
Medical Equipment Manufacturing to Support Industrial Growth in Bengal
The proposed ₹500 crore investment adds to West Bengal's efforts to attract industrial projects and strengthen its manufacturing ecosystem. Haldia, with its established industrial base and connectivity, is expected to play an important role in supporting the facility's operations and distribution network.
Beyond manufacturing, Truevis Technologies plans to develop a skilled technical workforce through partnerships with local institutions. This could create opportunities for technical training, skill development and employment linked to medical technology manufacturing.
As demand for advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment continues to grow, the Haldia project could contribute to India's domestic medical equipment industry while strengthening West Bengal's role in the healthcare technology supply chain.
The proposed facility marks a significant investment in Bengal's industrial landscape, bringing together manufacturing, healthcare technology and workforce development in Haldia.
